Lowlander Downunder

May 10th 2009

Australian farming company Glenvar, based in Western Australia took delivery earlier this year of the first Lowlander 350 Widebody to be sold in the country. Since its launch in early 2008 the 350 has captured the imagination of large scale farmers around the world.
Glenvar farms around 10,000 hectares 20 km North East of the Wongan Hills. Minimal tillage techniques are used to enhance soil conditions and produce premium quality grains.
The Lowlander Widebody 350 was specified with two horizontal beaters and spinner deck mainly for the application of poultry manure prior to seeding, but it will also spread some cattle muck and lime. With a 3 meter wheel track the spreader fits in with the companies controlled wheel/traffic system.
A tri-axle arrangement, with the front and rear axles being self steer, on 600/55 R22.5 tyres, ensures the 35 m3 load capacity is carried reliably and with minimal compaction and damage to the soil. A sprung drawbar, remote greasers and box floor slats were also fitted to the machine.
